Rays of Hope

In "Lichtblicke" Kurt Gäble has musically processed a feeling that is indescribably important for us humans: hope. The powerful fanfares at the beginning and end of the work act as a kind of "frame" in which the actual composition is embedded like a picture. A very expressive, emotional main theme symbolizes hope. This theme appears again and again, in different keys, sometimes louder and sometimes quieter - like many small, different rays of hope, when we humans can often draw new hope from inconspicuous things. A dramatic intermediate part illustrates the negative experiences and feelings we have to face over and over again: Illness, loss, grief, despair and fear. But in the end hope prevails and it gives us an awareness for the small things and the small ray of hope of life.
